Five things I wish I knew before I lost weight.

As a Keto coach who has lost over 120 pounds, there are several things that I wish I had known before starting my weight loss journey. Below are the top five things that I believe would have been beneficial to know:

  1. The Focus Shouldn’t Be on Fast Weight Loss: I wish I had understood that the key to weight loss success is not rapid weight loss but consistency. Losing weight too quickly can stress out your body and ultimately be unsustainable in the long run. Instead, focusing on sustainable and gradual weight loss through a healthy diet and regular exercise is key.
  2. Keto Is Not Just a Diet, It’s A Lifestyle: While the ketogenic diet is an effective way to lose weight, it’s important to understand that it’s not just a diet but rather a lifestyle choice. It involves making significant changes to one’s eating habits and lifestyle to achieve and maintain long-term weight loss success.
  3. Mindset Matters: One thing that I wish I had known earlier is that weight loss is not just about changing your diet and exercise routine, but also about changing your mindset. Maintaining a positive attitude, celebrating small victories, and being kind and compassionate to oneself are all important factors for long-term success.
  4. Consistency is Key: Consistency is critical to achieving long-term weight loss success. It’s essential to be mindful of what you eat, track your progress, and stay motivated along the way. Even if you have an occasional setback or slip-up, don’t give up! Consistency is key, and small changes can make a significant difference over time.
  5. Support is Essential: Having a strong support system can make all the difference when trying to achieve long-term weight loss success. Support can come from family, friends, or even having a coach to help carry you through your journey.. Having someone to talk to and share the journey with can help keep you motivated and accountable.

By understanding these things, I firmly believe that anyone can achieve their weight loss goals in a healthy and sustainable way.

Are you ready my friend? Let’s do it the right way!!

Great blog post! I agree with you that sustainability and consistency are key to weight loss success. My question is, what strategies do you recommend for maintaining a positive mindset and staying motivated during the weight loss journey?

Staying motivated and positive means keeping a realistic mindset. Knowing there is no such thing as sustainable quick weight loss and then holding on for the ups and downs. Of course it is fun to see the physical changes, but realizing the non scale victories matter just as much opens your whole world up to success. You have to remember your why. The “why” carries you through the dark seasons. I am a firm believer in body, mind and spirit healing. I believe sometime through the journey it is wise to have a counselor and coach. When I lost my 120 lbs, for every pound that fell off on the outside, 10 fell off on the inside. Whole body healing and patience are key!!! Xoxo
