You’ve probably heard the saying “abs are built in the kitchen” before, and it’s true. (Thank goodness this is true!!!!) While exercise is important for toning your abdominal muscles, diet plays a much bigger role in achieving visible abs and overall weight loss.
Don’t get me wrong, I have grown to love my time at the gym over the years. I’ve made some of my best friends at Positive Fittness here in my town!
However I think even Lou would agree with me… weight loss is estimated to be about 80% diet and 20% exercise. (maybe even a little higher on the nutrition side) No amount of exercise can outdo a poor diet, so it’s crucial to focus on nutrition as well. Ladies… you can’t go to the gym, burn 250 calories then run through the BuckyStars and grab a Frapamochachino for 900 calories and expect the results you think you want!

To achieve weight loss and toned abs, start by focusing on eating whole, nutrient-dense foods that are rich in protein, healthy fats, and fiber. Avoid processed foods and sugary drinks, which are often high in calories and low in nutrients.
Incorporating exercise into your routine can help accelerate your weight loss and toning goals, but it’s important to remember that you can’t out-exercise a bad diet. Cardiovascular exercise, such as running or cycling, can help burn calories and reduce overall body fat, while resistance training can help build muscle and improve your metabolism. (any of my readers in the menopause phase in your life… your routine is even different!)
Ultimately, a combination of a healthy diet and regular exercise is the most effective way to achieve weight loss and toned abs. Remember to be patient and consistent, as visible results may take time to show.
Meet me at the gym?
