The trap of Food Addiction

Do you struggle with food addiction?

My friend, It’s a REAL thing, and it’s not just a matter of willpower or self-control. It’s not that you have failed a diet once again. It is a brain disease. Certain foods, especially those high in sugar and carbs, can be just as addictive as drugs like cocaine and heroin.

Sounds dark, but I promise you, there is hope. With the right approach and support, you CAN break free from food addiction and achieve optimal health and wellness.

I did it!

My name is Monica Boyer, and I am a food addict.

I became passionate about finding healing for food addiction because of the model I chose to use and now use in my practice. The Ketogenic/Abstinence model. This means completely cutting out trigger foods from your diet. There is no moderation for an addict and I know… this flys in the face of the cool coaches out there saying, you can eat anything in moderation. You can’t.

For some people, even a little bit of these foods can trigger cravings and lead to overeating. By completely eliminating them, you can break the cycle of addiction and begin to heal. Sounds easy right. I know… there is so much more to it.

Pairing Abstinence with Keto is the recipe that makes this DOABLE!

Keto is a high-fat, low-carb diet that can reduce cravings and improve insulin sensitivity. By limiting carbs, the body enters a state of ketosis, where it burns fat for fuel instead of glucose. This can lead to significant weight loss and improved health markers like blood sugar and cholesterol levels.

It’s powerful!

But it’s not just about what you eat. Healing from food addiction also involves addressing the emotional and psychological factors that contribute to the addiction. This may involve working with a therapist or counselor to address underlying issues and develop healthy coping mechanisms after the drug is removed. Therapy before this is counter productive and can set you back further into addiction.

If you’re struggling with food addiction, it’s important to seek support and a professional. This team comes in various forms. A health coach, a support group, or a trusted friend or family member. They all have different roles in your healing. Having someone to hold you accountable and provide guidance and encouragement can make all the difference.

Remember, healing from food addiction is a journey. It takes time and effort, but with the right approach and support, you can break free from the cycle of addiction and achieve optimal health and wellness. Don’t give up hope – you got this!
