Losing weight is not just about changing your diet and exercising more, it’s also about changing your mindset. I used to think that… eat less… move more… I ran from diet to diet that way! Girl, in all honesty, to achieve lasting weight loss success, it’s important to shift your focus from short-term goals to a long-term, sustainable approach. If you don’t do this, you are just on another diet.
Are you ready to break this down with me?
First, start by reframing your mindset around food. Instead of thinking of food as a reward or punishment, start viewing it as fuel for your body. Focus on incorporating nutrient-dense whole foods into your diet, rather than calorie-dense, processed foods. Focus on eliminating the bad stuff. One at a time if you can.
Next, set realistic goals that are attainable and measurable. Rather than focusing on losing a specific number of pounds, set goals around building healthy habits, like drinking more water, eating more vegetables, or exercising for 30 minutes a day. Celebrate small wins along the way and be patient with yourself.
Finally, shift your mindset around exercise. Rather than viewing it as a chore or punishment, find an activity that you enjoy and that makes you feel good. This could be anything from walking, running, dancing, or yoga. Make exercise a part of your daily routine, rather than something you do just to burn calories.
Remember, changing your mindset takes time and effort, but it’s an essential part of achieving sustainable weight loss success.
